River Glen Project

River Glen

Nestled amongst the gently rolling hills just outside Historic Fredericksburg lies a very special development – River Glen. We all have heard the phrase, “going green,” so you be the judge. Our project encompasses 220 acres, 50% of which has been set aside as “conservation area.”
River Glen is comprised of 43, two-plus acre estate lots encapsulated in a forested buffer, preserved in perpetuity; peace and tranquility assured. These wide buffers have not only created ideal home sites, having all the advantages of a much larger lot, but have also preserved privacy, created exclusivity, and perhaps most importantly,  provided security of investment for the discriminating buyer.
These buffers, some of which are 800 ft. deep, have also created corridors for wildlife, protected water quality, and preserved the forest and the rural viewshed of River Road. Just 4.8 miles from the city limits and 7 miles from I-95, the lucky residents of River Glen will have a commute into town, free of congestion and traffic lights, via River Road traveling along the scenic Rappahannock River.
Located within the Reservoir and River Protection Overlay Districts, this location assures the immediate area will always be “low density,” thus creating greater value. With the first lot over a thousand feet from River Road, roof tops will never be seen, only tree tops.
The developers of River Glen have taken great pride in the creation of this conservation subdivision. Future residents will count themselves lucky to have found a home there. Located within the River Bend High School district and convenient to Harrison’s Crossing, River Glen is the perfect place to live; so close to everything, yet so private.

Great Train Race

I am really looking forward to going to the Great Train Race, Sunday. I love watching all of the 'Burg kids get away from the TV and hit the pavement. Praying the young runners don't worry about their safety ---due to the Boston tragedy--- and enjoy themselves as they have in the past!

If you've never been---it starts immediately after the roosters crow!!

Umi-Umi-Umi-and MORE UMI!

Can I just say I am addicted to UMI! My husband and I were first introduced to Umi last year by our friends (Whytney & Rick). We sat at the bar and had the best night ever---eating and drinking whatever Sony Gao gave us :)!!! We let him make us whatever he thought we'd like---no limitations--nothing off the menu. He's the pro after all!! Umi is *without a doubt*  The Best in the 'Burg.....according to ME! If you are planning to go out to eat this weekend---and have not tried UMI---go! Sony (the talkative one) and Jonathan (the quiet one) will definitely turn you into a sushi lover---if you're not already!! Hopefully, I will see you there!

Riverside Dinner Theater

Good Morning!
I was invited to go see Full Monty at The Riverside Theater, yesterday. I admit, I had no idea what t was going to be about (I don't usually stay up on the movies). The production was very funny and definitely ADAULT only. Sally Struthers was in it---so you know it was funny!

Next up, Legally Blonde!

Best in the 'Burg....According to ME!

I decided last month that I wanted to do a blog about people, places, and things that I love in Fredericksburg, Va. I can't guarantee everyone reading my blog will agree with my opinions---this is why my blog specifically says "according to me".

I first want to give a shout out to Sheila Harris, Owner of
Petite Retreat on Williams Street www.mypetiteretreat.com  for helping me come up with my blog name. I was originally planning to call it Fred Faves...according to Me! Thankfully, she suggested 'Best in the Burg'---I like it--I like it a lot! Thank you, Sheila!

If you are looking for a new salon check them out!

Thanks for reading :)
